Reporter/Correspondent

NOVA, the award-winning PBS science series, has a new national magazine
series entitled NOVA scienceNOW. Hosted by Robert Krulwich of ABC News, the series airs every few months in the NOVA timeslot. We are actively looking
for on-air correspondents to report our science stories. A background in
science, technology, or health reporting is preferred, but not essential.
Interested candidates should have on-camera experience, a genuine interest
in science and have a casual, engaging and articulate on-camera presence. We
need reporters who will add credibility, intelligence and a bit of
irreverence to the stories. We are looking for correspondents who report in
the field and are comfortable in many environments and situations. Those who
have the background and skills to work with a producer on a science story
with national significance and interview scientists at the top of their
field. Our stories run from 5 minutes to 15 minutes on a variety of topics.

While the series is produced out of New York City the correspondent can be
based anywhere in the US but must be willing to travel for shoots and to
record narration. This is a part-time freelance position and the time
commitment is relatively minimal although we welcome and encourage input
with the production team on writing and crafting the final segment.

The programs stream online at www.pbs.org/nova/sciencenow.
