MISSISSIPPI: Education reporter for Hattiesburg American
[NOTE: It’s an interesting time to be covering anything in south Mississippi, and the K-12 education beat should be busy with all the new money coming in
from the federal Hurricane Katrina relief package.]
The Hattiesburg American, a Gannett-owned daily newspaper in South
Mississippi, is seeking a K-12 education reporter. Responsibilities
will include covering several districts and examining trend/issue
stories that cut across district lines. A year of experience
preferred, though recent college graduates with internship experience
will be considered. We’re looking for a high-energy person eager to
learn the craft of journalism. Email resume, cover letter and 5-7
stories to Executive Editor Kathleen Williams, Hattiesburg American,
