Training Editor/Writing Coach, Reuters Bangalore, India

Reuters is looking for a dynamic and experienced journalist to join its rapidly expanding Bangalore newsroom as an editorial trainer and writing coach. This is a creative and challenging job requiring proven expertise as an equities reporter, an aptitude for collaborative learning and a talent for coaching.

The successful candidate will combine a track record of superior equities coverage, preferably in the United States, with an ability to inspire excellence through individual example and team work. She or he will balance creative instructional design in the classroom with hands-on collaboration in the newsroom to guide on-the-job learning.

The training editor will design and deliver learning strategies to meet the evolving needs of the Bangalore newsroom, consulting with members of the editorial learning team to ensure training activities are aligned with global initiatives. The trainer/coach will also liaise closely with Reuters Asia editorial training manager to create learning projects of regional and international scope.
The role offers ample opportunities for growth as a journalist and innovation as a coach/trainer. The ideal candidate would relish the opportunity to nurture talent and develop his/her own leadership skills through mentoring, networking and consulting.

Qualifications:

At least three years’ experience covering equities in the United States or another major centre
Must have:

Excellent writing and sub-editing skills
Advanced soft skills (listening, presenting, networking, performance management)
Good news judgment in equities and cross-asset stories
Strong organisational abilities
Proven dedication to quality and innovation
Willingness to master the full potential of Reuters products for news

Nice to have:

Previous teaching and/or mentoring experience
Previous eLearning experience
