Calling all artists, writers, and readers of literature!

The issue:

Fringe Magazine (”The noun that verbs your world”) seeks submissions for its
second anniversary theme issue, Ethnos.

We want writing that navigates the complexities of ethnicity, race, and
identity, and are accepting work in the genres of fiction, non-fiction,
poetry, criticism, and cross genre, as well as original artwork.
Experimental and political work are always welcome. Ethnos submissions
accepted August 1 to December 15, 2007.

Can’t make the deadline? We accept submissions for regular issues on a
rolling basis. Guidelines and further information are available on the
website at http://www.fringemagazine.org/submissions.htm

The project:

Extending the theme “Ethnos” to the current literary scene, Fringe is also
protesting the racism and sexism of the New York Times list of Best Books
of the last 25 years by pooling its own
list.

The magazine:

Fringe Magazine is a Boston-based literary magazine founded in 2005 by an
all-women group of editors “to fight against the homogenization of culture
and the loss of revolutionary literature at the high-literary and popular
levels.” The bi-monthly online journal has published work by 77 writers and
artists since its first issue (February 1, 2006). The website receives
16,000+ hits each month.
