On-Air/Digital Promotions Writer/Producer
Atlanta’s Gannett owned NBC affiliate, WXIA-TV, and My Network TV, WATL-TV is looking for an On-Air/Digital Promotions Writer/Producer. This position will be responsible for creating marketing materials promoting 11Alive, myAtlTV, and our digital assets (11alive.com, Ask Peachy, Peachymoms, etc.) as assigned. From concept creation to execution, producer must devise a marketing plan, write and produce creative consistent with the plan; oversee any necessary shoots, graphic creation, edit sessions and deliver finished creative on deadline and within allocated budget. Producer must have the ability to create marketing materials for use on-air, online, on radio, in print and outdoor media. Producer’s primary responsibility will be to produce promotion materials for 11Alive News…both topical and brand image promotion.

Must have a minimum of 5 years experience creating (primarily news) promotion in broadcast/cable news environments. Candidate must have strong promotion writing skills, a good eye for graphics, pacing and most importantly, a strong sense of brand message. Candidate must also have the ability to think strategically, work well under tight deadlines and have strong organizational skills. Non-linear editing and online publishing experience are a must. Online marketing experience preferred.

Operations Technician
Atlanta’s Gannett owned NBC affiliate, WXIA-TV, and My Network TV, WATL-TV is looking for an Operations Technician. This position will perform all aspects of operations including but not limited to: master control, videotape operations, microwave/satellite receive, robotics/studio camera, audioDeko operations, technical directing, floor directing/teleprompter operating, camera jib and distributing scripts.

3 to 5 years experience in a medium to major size market television station and prior newscast
experience preferred. Must be experienced in operating a videotape room using DV Cam, Sony SX, DigiBeta, IMX, HD, & Beta SP formats, Grass Valley 2100 Master Control and Utah Scientific SD2020 Switchers, Troll Microwave Control System, Louth Automation, Grass Valley file servers, DG commercial servers, and Utah Scientific Router. A working knowledge of Wheatstone Audio Board, Sony 8000 & Grass Valley 4000 News Production Switcher and TSM robotic camera experience is a plus. Applicant should be willing to work different schedules including weekends and holidays. Should be a quick thinker, have strong problem solving skills, and react well in live, breaking news situations. A “can do” attitude and good interpersonal skills are needed

Production Assistant

Atlanta’s Gannett owned NBC affiliate, WXIA-TV, and My Network TV, WATL-TV is looking for a Production Assistant. Responsibilities include but are not limited to all aspects of operations: Floor director/teleprompter operator, sorting and distributing scripts, robotic and studio camera operator, Jib camera operator, Avid editing, studio set-up and cleaning, assisting with studio lighting, working remote telecasts, assisting the assignment desk, sorting mail and other general duties as assigned.

College level course work in television or related field preferred. College internship or comparable experience in live and taped television production required. Floor Director/teleprompter operation, sorting scripts, and studio camera experience required. A working knowledge of master control, Avid editing systems, robotic cameras, audio, microwave/satellite receive and technical director positions a plus. Applicant should be willing to work different shifts and schedules including weekends and holidays. Must be a quick thinker and react well in live, breaking news situations. A “can do” attitude and good interpersonal skills are required.
