FLORIDA: Assistant sports editor for The South Florida Sun-Sentinel
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel is accepting applications for an Assistant Sports Editor to help lead our professional and college beats from our Fort Lauderdale office.
We are looking for a leader with initiative and a willingness to win in a highly competitive market — someone who can coach reporters on news coverage, push them toward timely trend and enterprise stories and lead the development of content for multiple platforms — including the online edition and our broadcast partners.
This supervisor must be an excellent line editor able to develop and elevate stories. The job includes responsibility for managing some of our award-winning special sections and developing and overseeing enterprise and long-term projects.
Organization, strong communication, planning and teamwork are a must. Experience as a supervisor is required.
The Sun-Sentinel aggressively covers South Florida’s four major professional teams, college sports, high schools and an array of outdoor athletic events of interest to the fans in our region.
