MILITARY Reporter

Northeast Florida is military country.
You can see it by our growing Navy bases, as well as key Marines, National Guard and Reserves facilities.
And you can see it by the strong presence of military retirees, who are making Northeast Florida their home.
You’ll lead our coverage on the potential transformation of Mayport to homeport a nuclear aircraft carrier, the fight to help recent war veterans get back on their feet and the continued push to improve health benefits for active duty and retirees.
This job is ideal for a person with strong multi-media skills, including blogging.

And it’s home to a newspaper that is not only filling reporter vacancies, but creating new ones.

The Florida Times-Union has an opening on our news department editing staff for a quick-thinking and (hopefully) -witted professional who wants to excel on a desk that does, every day. If you don’t have at least three years’ experience on a daily newspaper or a successful Dow Jones internship, please don’t apply. But if you do, and you’d like to challenge yourself and us, by all means do.
