1995, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

R News serves Time Warner Cable customers in 330,000 viewer homes in a 15-county
area in upstate New York that stretches from Erie County east to Cayuga County and from Monroe County south to Allegany County.

Our news channel is part of the cutting edge NY News Division for Time Warner Cable in
which we leverage resources in markets from NY City to Albany, Syracuse, Binghamton,
Watertown, Elmira/Corning and Utica. We have a fleet of three livetrucks.

SUMMARY: To work as a member of a team to produce live and taped news programming to air on a
24 hour local news channel. Please note the hours for this position will be 2:30-11:30pm
Thursday through Monday.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Works with the news production director to complete production of taped and live news programming.
• Prepares the studio and control room areas. This includes set-up and strike of cameras, audio equipment, cables and other related equipment.
• Operates and maintains working knowledge of audio board, audio patch panels and cart machines.
• Records and reviews news clips into digital file server to air in news wheels
• Runs teleprompter for studio talent and to provide closed captioning
• Operates and maintains a working knowledge of additional production equipment, including robotic cameras, videotape machines, character generators, computers, lighting and other related equipment.
• Performs routine maintenance on production equipment, studio and storage areas. This includes organization and light cleaning duties.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

News experience is preferred.
Video and audio production knowledge preferred.
Must be able to work efficiently and accurately in fast-paced environment.
Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
Must be able to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
An Associates degree in related field is preferred or equivalent education/training/work experience is required.
One to two years’ video production experience required.
News experience preferred.
