OREGON: TV anchor/ reporter for KTVL-TV

Job Summary: Report and shoot compelling TV news stories in a credible,
professional manner using superb writing and storytelling skills. Anchor
pieces from the set or field.
Essential Job Functions:
Solid grasp of basic journalistic standards, practices and ethics
Solid understanding of major sports
Must be proficient in the English language
Proficient at conducting live shots
Write stories to Channel 10 News format and standards
Ability to work well with other people with divergent viewpoints
Edit stories as assigned by producer and managers for broadcast
Shoot video and audio as required in Southern Oregon and Northern
California areas as assigned
Participate as assigned at station-sponsored events
Willingness to shoot hard news stories, as well as sports stories
Understanding of how to cover local sports in a non-major market
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or equivalent work
experience
Prior TV news experience preferred
Ability to operate video camera, videotape editor, newsroom computer
systems
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds of gear
Ability and desire to represent Channel 10 in a professional light in the
community
Ability to work in high pressure situations in deadline environment
Possess computer skills, ability to learn AP News Center
Valid driver’s license and insurable
Ability to be on call in off hours
Ability to negotiate stairs
Wages:
Full-time, pay commensurate with experience.
