We seek a brilliant, dynamic individual to be our Webmaster, a hands-on creative and technical expert to oversee the design and construction of the Global News website and make it one of the leading news and information sites on the internet. You will be a leader in digital media development, possess superb taste and judgment about all things web-based, and have extensive technical experience including knowledge of key programming and software languages.

Position requirements include:
–Oversee all technical vendor relationships relating to the design and construction of the Global News website, including content management system, video capture and encoding systems, hosting, bandwidth and video streaming.
–Have a proven track record of leading media websites in innovative ways and demonstrate a passion for both the web and news, be well-versed in all online best practices, and skilled in all important programming and software languages including HTML, XML, CSS, CMS, Flash, Open Source, Drupal, Ruby, web standards-based design, RSS, Photoshop, JavaScript, and database systems.
–Support all editorial and news requirements, working closely with the Executive Editor, and assist in identifying and developing new editorial content, new features for the site, and in evaluating the performance of other news sites.
–Possess extensive knowledge of leading-edge technology and web trends, and how to apply them in a news environment, including search optimization strategies.
–Thrive in a fast-moving news environment where rapid online response may be required at any time.
–Work collaboratively with and support the needs of the Global News advertising sales, subscription and syndication efforts in creating a full suite of online revenue opportunities.
