The Hartford Courant seeks an Insurance Reporter.This position in the Insurance City is defined broadly to include breaking and enterprise reporting on the industry as well as consumer issues related to insurance and personal finance. The reporter will cover health and property-casualty, producing for three platforms: print, online, and TV. Insurance in Hartford comprises some of the nation’s largest companies – Aetna, The Hartford, CIGNA, United Health, Travelers, MetLife – and major public debates such as health care reform and financial industry restructuring. The reporter must be able to explain insurance and financial issues to everyday readers and will be expected to develop a blog for both insurance insiders and consumers.
