Knowledge of satellite news gathering, digital electronic news gathering and wireless or IP video transfer systems are strong assets. College degree preferred or related practical experience. Technical skills required include operational knowledge of PC and/or Apple operating systems, Avid XP/Newscutter/Adrenalin or Final Cut expertise.

Media management, strong interpersonal skills, routine PC maintenance and the ability to work in a time-sensitive environment are also key elements of responsibilities. Backpack Journalist

We’re looking for a great story teller who can produce those stories for on-air, including NBC affiliate WXIA, My Network affiliate WATL, online and other and growing distribution streams. WATL and WXIA are looking for an experienced photojournalist who understands the reality of video content creation in the digital world. This person should realize that quality news video must exist in a 3 screen world (television, internet, mobile), and be prepared to service all 3 screens on a daily basis.

Must be able to operate the ENG/SNG vehicles, broadcast standard field equipment (ENG/DNG) and all issued video/audio support accessory gear. Provide knowledgeable coverage of news stories to include shooting, editing and the gathering of basic information as needed by the Assignment Desk and for individual enterprise. Completed work will emphasize creative storytelling of the highest professional photo journalistic standards. Summary:

Senior Journalist is responsible for overseeing the news department assignment desk and reporting on local stories. The individual selected will work with the News Director to build the station’s assignment desk and help plan and implement policies for covering local spot news.
