ASSIGNMENT MANAGER, WESTERN BUREAUS. Responsibilities include managing the Los Angeles Assignment Desk which is responsible for news coverage and the assignment of correspondents, producers, and crews in the western part of the country. Additional responsibilities include working with the LA bureau chief and NY assignment desk, coordinating coverage of breaking news stories, collaborating with Newsone, radio, dotcom and affiliates to identify and pitch interesting local and regional stories. Candidates must have a strong editorial background with a particular focus on finding unique and forward-looking story ideas for all broadcasts and platforms. Candidates should have previous newsroom management experience, be familiar with all broadcasts and platforms and be an advocate for stories in the LA Bureau coverage area. There is a strong internal candidate.

CHARLIE GIBSON SENIOR PRODUCER. Responsibilities include overseeing Washington’s editorial content, script editing and managing staff. Candidates must have excellent editorial judgment and an understanding of news operations and the latest technology. Strong control room, writing, line producing and field producing skills suggested. Candidates must be able to work in a constantly changing, fast-paced news environment. 6+ years experience in network news programming is preferred.

PRODUCTION ASSISTANT. Candidates should be energetic, ambitious, detail-oriented self starters who can hit the ground running. Responsibilities include collecting, screening and organizing all videotape, graphics and sound design elements associated with daily production from concept to delivery. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, transcribing, logging and archiving video feeds, interviews and talent shoots, and assisting senior management. Candidates must have excellent research, writing, communication and organizational skills and at least 2 years previous production experience in broadcast television or film. Familiarity with linear and non-linear editing and production facilities is a plus.

VIDEO COORDINATOR. Responsibilities include handling incoming and outgoing feeds in the Playback Department of ABC News, Washington. These feeds are used by all broadcasts. The candidate must have previous experience in television production. Excellent organizational and communication skills required to coordinate incoming and outgoing feeds in Playback. Candidates should have the ability to organize and log ALL material coming into Washington in a fast-paced environment under strict deadlines. Must know how to schedule in Avid Media Manager and have a working knowledge of Capture Manager, NewsCutter, Pathfire, Scan Converter and FTP machine. There is a strong internal candidate.
