DETAILS: FSRN’s production staff is highly decentralized. With the necessary broadcast-quality equipment, the anchor could work from

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Edits, updates, and voices reporter intros to news segments, Writes and voices newscast’s opening billboard, Uploads anchor-produced program segments and voice tracks to FSRN Tech Team by 3:30pm U.S. Eastern time, In collaboration with the FSRN editorial staff, produces two news
segments per newscast (two-way interview, cut & copy, or other), including research, recording & conducting interviews, writing copy,
checking facts, and editing audio for air, Copy edits all news segment intros for FSRN website, Responds to reporter pitches posted to the FSRN production wiki, Pitches during fund drives for stations that carry FSRN (live or recorded); records occasional other promos for FSRN and its affiliate
stations, Participates in the morning editorial calls, biweekly staff meetings, and other duties as necessary

MORNING NEWS REPORTER/HOST

WNYC Radio has an opening for a Morning News Reporter/Host who has
excellent on-air presence and strong reporting, writing and production
skills to become a regular morning presence on WNYC - as both a reporter

WMUB has an opening for a part-time Staff Announcer/Morning Edition
anchor. This position will involve hosting local segments of
National Public Radio’s Morning Edition including newscasts, traffic
and weather reports plus other information as appropriate.

WMUB’s broadcast studios are located in a spacious facility in
Oxford, Ohio, on the campus of Miami University. WMUB reports to the
President’s Office of Communications. We serve the region of
southwestern Ohio, southeastern Indiana, and parts of northern
Kentucky, with service to parts of the Cincinnati and (principally)
Dayton markets. Our program schedule includes NPR news magazines and
talk shows, daily local talk shows, Car Talk, Garrison Keillor, and a
nighttime jazz format.

Duties of this position include:

A daily Monday through Friday board shift of at least 3 hours;
Assembling and delivering newscasts each half-hour throughout the
morning;
Writing and voicing spot news stories for later use;
Preparing occasional feature-length stories or two-way interviews;

Qualified applicants will have: a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or
Mass Communication or equivalent experience; a minimum of two years
of radio hosting experience with a smooth and friendly public radio
style; a solid journalistic work ethic and the ability to create a
smooth blend between the NPR feed and locally-inserted material.
Necessary skills include: board operation; hosting; computer skills
including digital editing; field reporting, interviewing, writing
and production. Other desirable experience may include: hosting
talk shows and working with and training students.

This is a part-time hourly position of approximately 20 hours per
week with limited University benefits. Miami University is an
