including news, sports, features, business and editorials. The Journal
Gazette, a seven-day, locally owned morning newspaper, is in a long-term
joint operating agreement with a six-day afternoon Knight Ridder
newspaper. The Journal Gazette’s circulation is 72,000 daily and 125,000

The editorial assistant is responsible for clerical duties in the

correspondents, accurately compiling seasonal sports schedules and
preparing several daily fixtures. This person assists other reporters by
tracking down sources and/or information on breaking stories — using
the phone or Internet or leaving the office to gather information. This
person often takes on large bureau projects such as surveying political
delegates. The E.A. may be asked to fill in on broadcast supervisor
shifts. Is encouraged to suggest, report and write original spot and
