WEB SALES MANAGER
Sales prospecting, presenting, negotiating, closing, and managing online revenue. Develop new revenue stream through the Station’s web site. Demonstrate credibility as an expert in the categories assigned and in online advertising. Sell opportunities online and other emerging technologies including but not limited to mobile products and desktop applications. Work closely with national and local sales teams including promotions, production, news, and sales to meet expectations. Demonstrate effective revenue projection management, sales reporting and customer relationship management. Must be able to drive an automobile, travel, and work varied hours and OT.
Qualifications: Four year college degree or equivalent experience required. Minimum 3 years of online sales experience with proven sales track record. Additional ad sales experience in offline media preferred. Must possess a working knowledge of all online metrics, technologies, and research tools used in the marketplace. Must have strong relationships with key ad agency personnel. Experience in direct sales and interactive agencies preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of the internet and online advertising. Effective verbal and written communication skills are mandatory. Strong time management, organizational, and presentation skills required. Excellent PC and Microsoft Office skills required.
SENIOR ASSIGNMENT EDITOR
Essential functions are to oversee assignment desk operations ensuring proper allocation of station resources (photogs, reporters, tech equip) to provide thorough and complete news coverage. Duties include: educating and leading the staff including daily story selection meetings and participating in daily newscast producer meetings to ensure programs are produced and executed on concept. Must have ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions with sound editorial judgment. Must have extensive knowledge of local, national, and international events, excellent organizational skills, and ability to multi-task. Requires minimum 2 years of assignment desk or newsroom management experience.
PHOTOGRAPHER
Shoot and edit linear and non-linear Sony SX/SP. Safely operate microwave live truck while following company and industry safety standards. Must be able to operate camera, lights, wireless mics, portable and permanent editing gear, microwave truck, computer, Avstar newsroom software, and two-way radio. College degree in Journalism or related field preferred. 2 years paid broadcast news photographer experience required.
WEEKEND ANCHOR/REPORTER
Work an assigned beat, establish contacts, identify stories of relevance to the community, report live and taped as assigned, work varied shifts with little notice, adhere to newsroom policies about news gathering and fair/accurate reporting/writing. Anchor weekend newscasts and fill-in for other newscasts, as needed, to include story selections, presentations, and executions for those broadcasts. Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field required. Minimum three years paid broadcast news experience as reporter or anchor. Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and be computer literate. Must be team player with ability to work under pressure.
PRODUCER
Write, arrange, and coordinate live and taped elements into a compelling, well-paced newscast. Communicate well with field crews, assignment desk, directors, and newsroom management. Exercise sound news judgment. Requires Bachelors’ degree in Journalism or related field and two years of paid newsroom experience as producer or associate producer. Must be computer literate and possess good interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for success in this position.
ASSOCIATE PRODUCER
Assist producers in the production of daily newscasts to include writing scripts, researching stories, working with assignment desk, field crews, graphics, and newsroom management. Must have degree in Journalism or related field and minimum one year of paid newsroom experience as assignment editor or associate producer. Must be computer literate and possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Need to be a team player who works well under stressful conditions.
SALES ASSISTANT
Responsible for clerical functions of sales dept to include: producing sales presentations and misc sales projects, answering phones, processing orders, handling correspondence, organizing files to insure SAQ compliance, maintaining data bases, and other duties, as assigned. College degree preferred. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint). Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be self-motivated, extremely organized, have a keen eye for detail, work well under pressure with ability to meet stringent guidelines, and understand team concept.
MAINTENANCE ENGINEER
Maintain and repair studio and transmitter equipment with emphasis on Beta SX VTR and RF systems repair. Troubleshoot to the component level. Serve as designated FCC Chief Operator. Must be well versed in FCC and OSHA rules and regulations. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with little supervision. Requires ability to lift 50 lbs., occasionally work on ladders or in confined spaces, and available to work nights/weekends/holidays for emergency calls. Must have valid driver’s license. Requires five years experience in commercial broadcast television and transmitter maintenance. SBE Certification is preferred.

Assure that all elements of on-air presentation are of the highest quality. Work in a team environment during fast-paced, high-pressure newscasts. Duties include: Operate microwave and satellite equipment; operate and monitor remote transmitter; tune satellite receivers to record programs for air, spot checking for quality; tune in and troubleshoot local area microwave live-shots; switch on-air programming; operate Florical automation system; commercial and programming file servers; load and operate VTR machines; make dubs. A minimum of two years in the broadcast industry with experience in the master control environment preferred. Working knowledge of satellite and microwave communications. Broadcast skills with MCR switching, video file servers, Florical automation, VTR’s, transmitter remote controls and camera shading are preferred. Strong people skills, team player. Ability and willingness to work any shift a must.
WOFL/Orlando – Assignment Editor – (Regular Full Time):
Gather story information from news sources. Determine newsworthiness of each story idea/tip. Make decisions on what stories to cover, and assign appropriate crews. Keep news management and newscast producers apprised of all breaking news and changes in previous assignments. Keep story files updated. Communicate with field crews for updates on story assignments. Debrief reporters for story advancements and beat coverage. College degree in broadcast journalism or other related field. Previous desk experience strongly preferred. Working knowledge of newsroom computers and the Internet.
WOFL/Orlando – Production Tech – (Regular Part Time):
Assist director with various aspects of production including video camera, audio console, character generator, video recorder and lighting board. College degree or equivalent work experience in film or television preferred. Basic understanding of television production and computers. Weekends and holidays required. This is a part time position scheduled 16 hours per week.
WOFL/WRBW/WOGX – Promotion Producer – (Regular Full Time):
Write and produce original promos, including daily topicals, station and news image spots, and network, sports and syndicated branding spots for FOX Triopoly in Central Florida. Must have a proven track record of producing conversational yet compelling promotional spots that break through the clutter and give viewers a reason to tune-in. Requires top-notch writing skills and a desire to win every day. Good understanding of how to sell news stories and station programming to target demographics. Must have the ability to execute distinct marketing and branding strategies for each station. Flexibility and ability to meet tight deadlines is key. Ability to work flexible hours and shifts, including weekends and holidays is required. A minimum of two years television promotion experience, a degree in communications or related field, a good understanding of graphics and visual effects along with proficiency with Microsoft Office, basic non-linear editing skills and AVSTAR news computer knowledge is preferred. AVID Adrenaline and After Effects experience is a plus.
