Atlanta’s Gannett owned NBC affiliate, WXIA-TV, and My Network TV, WATL-TV is looking for an experienced editor/video producer. A multimedia video producer uses words, pictures, video and audio to tell compelling stories about people and places in and around the Atlanta DMA on air, online and on mobile platforms with the highest journalistic standards. Successful candidates will possess proficiency in identifying, producing, recording, and editing quality media elements for delivery on multiple platforms including broadcast, broadband, wireless and on-demand systems. Experience in field photography, digital production, journalism, and web-based acquisition and delivery required.

This position will edit videotape and images to distribute as quickly as possible to all of 11Alive’s distribution outlets. Must search for unique video content from multiple sources, including our field crews and network partners, to produce, package and distribute to enrich our news websites. May include working in the field to gather and edit words, images, sounds and editorial information, and convey that information back to the Information Center in a timely manner.

Work-flow will include Web 1.0, HTML, archiving and data retrieval systems, plus traditional broadcast delivery operations using state-of-the-art non-linear edit equipment as well as Web 2.0, emerging video technologies, social networking and data base applications. Knowledge of satellite news gathering, digital electronic news gathering and wireless or IP video transfer systems are strong assets. College degree preferred or related practical experience. Technical skills required include operational knowledge of PC and/or Apple operating systems, Avid XP/Newscutter/Adrenalin or Final Cut expertise.

Media management, strong interpersonal skills, routine PC maintenance and the ability to work in a time-sensitive environment are also key elements of responsibilities. The successful candidate will work well as part of a team in the 11Alive Information Center and be prepared to demonstrate leadership and the ability to mentor other team members. This position may include working various shifts including evenings and weekends.

DUTIES: Responsible for editing videotape for various newscasts and special programs and maintaining file tape for news library.

REQUIREMENTS: Two years previous experience in television News editing and video post-production required. Photography experience also preferred. Experience with receiving satellite and microwave feeds. Willing to adapt to new technologies, including the Avid NewsCutter system. Able to work a varied work schedule. ASSOCIATE PRODUCER/WRITER. This position on our morning broadcast, Good
Day Colorado, will combine writing broadcast-style scripts with
line-producing segments of the newscast. The ideal candidate is a
factual, efficient and creative scriptwriter. Experience with guest
booking and the ability to cultivate an extensive contact list is a
plus. This is not an entry-level position. At least one year
television news experience required. Ability to work under strict
deadlines and ability to work flexible hours and shifts is essential. BA
or equivalent with a major in broadcast journalism preferred. Rush

VIDEOTAPE EDITOR (Part Time) This position is for our morning newscast,
Good Day Colorado. You must be able to quickly assemble and edit from
multiple sources including local photographers and satellite news feeds.
Experience with non-linear editing is required, and previous newsroom
