Multimedia Producer - The South Florida Sun Sentinel and SunSentinel.com are looking for a versatile video editor and videographer to join our multi-dimensional team.
This person should have strong video editing skills and the ability to quickly turn over a high volume of quality videos for the Web and television. The applicant also should have experience shooting broadcast-quality video. Still photography skills are a plus.
A journalism background and experience in television, web and/or print journalism is preferred. The applicant should have a clear vision for how video works on the Web and the ability — through editing or shooting — to capture the essence of a good story in video.

Drishti is a leading human rights organization that uses media, communications and the arts to strengthen India’s social movements and organizations. Video Volunteers is an international organization that empowers communities to voice. Drishti and Video Volunteers have established ten Community Video Units (CVUs) across India where community members are producing monthly videos for local and global audiences. Each Video Magazine is screened back to the community in 25 different villages or slum pockets to approximately 10,000 people per month.

We believe community video can truly accelerate social change and create people-led development. Our goal is to create a Global Social Media network for and by the community.

About the Video Trainer Positions

Each Community Video Unit (CVU) has a full time Video Trainer working on site at an NGO with the Community Producers for a period of eighteen months. The job will entail training 6-10 community members in all aspects of video production, participatory video, principles of community media, media analysis and development communication.

Our upcoming CVU sites are likely to include Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Uttaranchal and Gujarat. We are looking for candidates who can proficiently communicate in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi or Gujarati and will be willing to relocate to their respective work sites. The Video Trainers will also need to have a working knowledge of English. For our Unit in Tamil Nadu, we would prioritise Dalit applicants or applicants who have worked on Dalit Rights.

Drishti/ Video Volunteers in partnership with Udaan are creating four Education-Community Video Units in Gujarat focused on producing stimulating curriculum-based local language educational videos for children. These will be videos created by the community, as opposed to the usual top-down approach to educational material production. This will be the first such an initiative in the country. The community-produced video content aims to improve the quality of education and strengthen values of ‘citizenship’ and ‘diversity’. The videos will be produced by local people who will be trained as full-time ‘community video producers.’ These videos will be shown in classrooms to children and will be followed by activities and interactive sessions by Classroom Facilitators, who will encourage children to think more broadly and holistically about the subjects in their textbooks. The videos will be on subjects that the students find hard to learn, teachers find difficult to teach, and will integrate lessons on the value of democracy, citizenship and diversity.

About the PROGRAM MANAGER Position (One Position):
The Program Manager will be responsible for launching the program, its overall management and then running it. S/he will need to oversee the creation of the E-CVUs at the local NGOs. S/h will need to oversee the design of the pedagogy, and be very involved in the monitoring and evaluation of the program. This is a true management position, with creative responsibilities as well, and requiring someone with a strong attention to deadlines and understanding of impact.

ASSOCIATE PRODUCER/WRITER. This position on our morning broadcast, Good Day Colorado, will combine writing broadcast-style scripts with line-producing segments of the newscast. The ideal candidate is a factual, efficient and creative scriptwriter. Experience with guest booking and the ability to cultivate an extensive contact list is a plus. This is not an entry-level position. At least one year television news experience required. Ability to work under strict deadlines and ability to work flexible hours and shifts is essential. BA or equivalent with a major in broadcast journalism preferred. Rush resume and writing samples.

PHOTOJOURNALIST Qualified candidate must be a creative storyteller and a motivated team player with a minimum of two years experience in all related fields including ENG truck operations and non-linear editing. SPORTS PRODUCER KDVR seeks a Producer/Editor/Reporter for our sports department. The primary functions of this position are producing and editing. There are opportunities to report for air and fill-in anchor, but these will occur on an as-needed basis. FOX 31 Sports is focused on professional teams, breaking stories and great video. Features are not usually part of our broadcast. Minimum 2 years television sports experience required. This is not an entry-level position. Please send tape and writing samples.

METEOROLOGIST/WEATHERCASTER. This is a full time position with the primary on-air duties on weekends and as fill-in for our M-F morning or 9pm newscasts. You will also play a key role in team coverage during severe weather situations and produce weather specials. The ideal candidate will be a trained Meteorologist with either AMS or NWA (or both) certification. Experience forecasting in the Rocky Mountain region is preferred. NEWSCAST PRODUCER (Morning Newscast). If you’re looking for a new and exciting challenge, this position on Good Day Colorado is for you. The ideal candidate is a line producer who has experience organizing and overseeing interviews with newsmakers, guest booking and can cultivate an extensive contact list. You must be creative, flexible and able to effectively delegate to a support staff. At least two years television news producing experience required. NEWSCAST PRODUCER (9pm Newscast). The ideal candidate will show examples of solid editorial decision-making, dynamic copy and tease writing, creative flair in assembling newscast elements and the ability to manage a fast-paced, hard news broadcast. We need a positive leader who can accept input and translate it into action. Ability to communicate clearly and manage multiple live resources is a must. VIDEOTAPE EDITOR. This position is for our morning newscast, Good Day Colorado. You must be able to quickly assemble and edit from multiple sources including local photographers and satellite news feeds. Bureau Reporter / Photojournalist

WISC-TV is aggressively searching for an experienced television news reporter / videographer with the ability to tell compelling stories. This person will be responsible for independently operating our Rock County news bureau in Janesville, located 30 miles from Madison.

Duties include setting up news stories, shooting interviews and related video, writing and editing packages for newscasts, performing on-air presentation of news stories, and writing content for our web site, magazine, and other news products. This position includes weekend and evening hours.

Qualifications include a degree in Journalism or related field and some newsroom internship experience that ideally includes on-air reporting and photography work. The ideal candidate must feel comfortable working in an independent environment, be committed to developing sources for stories, and possess a desire to become an active member of the community. We also require knowledge of journalistic standards as they relate to on-air presentation of news stories, accurate and comprehensive writing skills, and an ability to generate story ideas. Producing experience is helpful.
